PM Vishwakarma Yojana



 The Prime Minister introduced PM Vishwakarma, a Central Sector Scheme, on September 17, 2023, with the goal of offering comprehensive assistance to handicrafters and other craftsmen who use tools and their hands. Carpenter (Suthar/Badhai), Boat Maker, Armourer, Blacksmith (Lohar), Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith (Sonar), Potter (Kumhaar), Sculptor (Moortikar, stone carver), Stone breaker, Cobbler (Charmkar)/ Shoesmith/Footwear artisan, Mason (Rajmistri), Basket/Mat/Broom Maker/Coir Weaver, Doll & Toy Maker (Traditional), Barber (Naai), Garland maker (Malakaar), Washerman (Dhobi), Tailor (Darzi) and Fishing Net Maker are among the 18 trades covered by the Scheme.


Objectives

1. To make it possible for artists and crafters to be recognized as Vishwakarma, entitling them to all of the Scheme's advantages

2. To offer skill upgrading so they may improve their abilities and to give them access to relevant and appropriate training options

3. To accommodate more advanced, contemporary tools in order to improve their functionality, output, and product quality

4. To make easy credit available to the targeted recipients without requiring collateral and to lower credit costs by offering interest subsidy

5. To incentivize digital transactions in order to promote these Vishwakarmas' digital empowerment

6. to give them a platform for market connections and brand development in order to enable them to take advantage of fresh growth prospects.


Benefits

1, Recognition: The PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card are used to recognize craftsmen and craftspeople.

2, Upgrade your skills with a five-to seven-day Basic Training and a fifteen-day or longer Advanced Training, each with a daily stipend of Rs. 500.


3. Toolkit reward: At the start of Basic Skill Training, e-vouchers worth up to Rs. 15,000 will be given as a toolkit reward.

4. Credit Support: 'Enterprise Development Loans' without collateral up to Rs. 3 lakh in two tranches of Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh with terms of 18 months and 30 months, respectively, at a fixed concessional interest rate of 5% with 8% government subsidy. After completing Basic Training, recipients are qualified to receive the first tranche of credit support, which can total up to Rs. 1 lakh. Beneficiaries who took advantage of the first loan tranche, kept up a standard loan account, implemented digital transactions in their firm, or completed Advanced Training will be eligible for the second loan tranche.

5. Incentive for Digital Transaction: For each digital pay-out or receipt, the beneficiary's account will be rewarded with Re. 1, up to a maximum of 100 transactions per month.
Marketing Assistance: To enhance the connection to the value chain, marketing assistance will be given to the craftsmen and crafters through branding, advertising, publicity, quality certification, onboarding on e-commerce platforms like GeM, and other marketing initiatives.


Eligibility


An craftsman or craftsperson who uses their hands and tools should apply.The candidate must be working for themselves in the unorganized sector.One of the eighteen family-based traditional trades included in the plan must be the applicant's occupation.The candidate must be at least eighteen years old on the day of scheme registration.It is required that the applicant be actively involved in the relevant trade on the registration date.The applicant cannot have taken out loans for self-employment or company growth under any similar credit-based programs offered by the federal government or state governments within the last five years, such as PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, or Mudra.A single family member may only register and get benefits under the Scheme.


Application Process


(i) The eligible beneficiaries must enroll themselves via the local CSC that is closest to them.
(ii) The recipient may apply alone or with the assistance of the CSCs via Enumerators or Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs).

Sign up:

First step: Go to "PM Vishwakarma's Official Portal" and select "Login" in the upper right corner. Click "CSC - Register Artisans" after that.

 They'll take you to the registration area.

Step 2: Select "Continue" after selecting "Yes" or "No" for each of the set of questions on the "Registration Now" page. Enter the 6-digit OTP that you received on your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar account on the "Aadhaar Verification" page. Select "Continue." Enter both your Aadhaar number and the Aadhaar registered mobile number on the next page. Select "Continue."

Step 1 of the application process is to visit the closest CSC and finish the biometric verification process.

Step 2: Complete the online application form by entering all required information, then click "Submit". Take note of the "Application Number" on the next screen for your records. Press "Done."

Validation:

Step 1: At the Gram Panchayat or ULB level, confirm eligibility.

Step 2: The District Implementation Committee reviews and recommends the applications.

Stage 3: After verifying the beneficiaries' eligibility, the Screening Committee will grant the beneficiaries' registration final approval.

Benefit Distribution: Following a successful three-step verification process, the craftsmen and artisans will formally register as Vishwakarmas under this Scheme. A PM Vishwakarma ID Card, a Digital ID, and a Digital Certificate will be given to them. The candidates would be recognized as Vishwakarmas with the help of the certificate, enabling them to take use of all the benefits offered by the Scheme.

NOTE; 

1. If a beneficiary does not have a ration card, they must present the Aadhaar cards of every member of their household. 
2. In the event that the beneficiary does not currently have a bank account, the CSC will handle the process of opening one for them.
